About Artwork

In Silent Spring three figures line up across the picture.
On the right, a deep blue figure is cut by the edge of the canvas and reaches out with a small orange-yellow inflorescence in his palm. A bright white band runs behind all three bodies, like a strip of light or a waterline, flattening the space and turning the scene into a stage. This work is full of antiphons between simple and complex, between grounded and transcendent.

At right, a deep blue figure enters cropped by the frame, extending a hand that holds a small orange-yellow fruit. A strong horizontal white band runs behind the bodies like a waterline or strip of light, flattening space and pressing the figures forward. The background is an intense green-blue field with visible, reworked brush texture. The painting is quiet in its storytelling—no eye contact, no clear narrative—yet it stays charged through posture, color, and that one simple gesture of offering.

Three nude figures span the composition in a frieze-like alignment. The left figure is almost a shadow in dark blue-black, it reads as a simplified silhouette. At center, a seated nude anchors the work. Body rendered in complex, dimmed tones, values that possess all primary colors at ones, scrubbed passages broken by darker blue-gray marks; legs open, torso upright, one hand near the lap. Painted in earthy palette, washed tones that show layers and revisions, she represents fertility. It becomes certain with scarlet red flaming out of her sacred parts. Instead of a face, there’s a bouquet — pinks, whites, greens, covering the head, obscuring, replacing it with a block of flowers. Those live their life, constantly moving, morphing into abstract color entities, into the bouquet-like cluster of withholding the gaze and shifting the image from portrait into constructed tableau.
