2017. Acrylic & tempera on cardboard. 30″ x 40″ (76.2 cm. x 101.6 cm.)
Before the storm is one of the several recent paintings devoted to an anxious premonition. The painting depicts an antique vase in a bucolic park, in which a bouquet of roses grows, where birds have nestled, but the storm is already on the horizon. I contemplate upon the fragility of human life before inevitable changes, as well as is an alarm at the anti-human political trends and climate change in the world.
